He activated tablet mode by navigating to the notification manager and selecting the tablet option from the available choices. If it wasn’t listed among the four, he expanded it to access the desired settings.

According to @BrokenProgram, it operates in tablet mode, ideal for touch devices. Disable it in the notification center if needed.

Additionally, you may navigate to the settings menu, then select system and tablet mode. Once you adjust the configuration, simply restart the device.

When Tablet mode isn't active but the Start menu occupies the entire screen, enable "Use Start full screen" in Settings > Personalization > Start. Disable it, and the Start menu should return to its usual position.
