It's more complex than just using a heat gun on the RAM modules. You'll need a proper BGA rework station. Since the RAM chips are small, a heat gun seems reasonable. Reprogramming the EEPROM is also essential. Not all RAM modules have identical layouts, so adapters or custom PCBs might be necessary. The biggest challenge is choosing the right RAM IC and updating its programming. Even if you use the same module type, the EEPROM setup could differ. If you add extra RAM, ordering compatible modules can simplify things, but you should still handle the EEPROM updates.
