Let’s be real, the 4-core CPU from 2014 is a bottleneck. Still, after overclocking and using water cooling, it works surprisingly well. I’m aware an upgrade is necessary, but this machine is running much better than expected. There’s still room for improvement with a few tweaks. It previously limited my 1080ti in Battlefield 1 at 1440p, a title from 2016/2017, and later faced serious performance issues with titles like Apex and Warzone. It acts as a major performance hurdle before reaching 60FPS in newer games.
They don't. The 3070 offers at least a 30%-40% boost in older titles and over 50% in newer ones. I upgraded from a 1080ti to a 3060ti, and it really made a difference even with the smaller VRAM at the time. Still, 1080ti remains a reliable card for most games back then. Not great for Alan Wake 2, though.
