Reinstalling Windows might still be the top choice if you're facing frequent problems.
I began with Windows 10 in August last year and switched to Windows 11 roughly two months prior. Apart from that, they made it harder to locate the settings menu, which seems acceptable. Before this version, I hadn't used any Windows updates since XP. When I was on Windows 98, 2000 or XP, I recall that during slow periods with many problems, I would usually reinstall the OS every six months. It looks like this might still be true. I've managed to resolve random restarts and a few other issues, but if these keep happening, starting fresh seems like the safest option. I'm still unsure, though, because everything feels responsive now and it's not always easy. I've been looking for ways to fix the problems and have had some success. Overall, is it common for people to agree that a reinstall is the best solution?
It really varies. Fixing things is definitely easier than figuring out the issues. I don’t know the exact problems you faced or why your OS started acting weird. The last time I had to wipe Windows was back in early 2021, mainly because I upgraded my PC and switched from Intel to AMD. Before that... well, around 2016 maybe?
It seems like you're dealing with some persistent issues with your wireless keyboard/mouse setup. You mentioned it's a basic Logitech model and that the problem started after setting up a NAS near your computer. The lagging typing and mouse freezes were intermittent, but once the mouse froze after an hour, it became unresponsive completely. You're considering a fresh installation because no drivers are available and everything seems to be working fine otherwise. It sounds like you're facing a tricky situation with Windows updates or driver conflicts.
