Regardless of the situation, Minecraft FPS continues to drop.
Regardless of the situation, Minecraft FPS continues to drop.
I recently acquired this laptop—a Zephyrus G GA502 (laptop). It comes with a GPU of Nvidia 1660 Ti Mobile, an AMD 3750h CPU, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and a 120Hz refresh monitor. After setting everything up and launching Minecraft, it performed well, maintaining around 140 frames per second consistently during multiplayer sessions. Once I connected my Asus monitor (60Hz), the FPS dropped immediately. Removing the monitor restored the performance. Initially, I suspected the issue was Minecraft, so I installed the Rainbow 6 update and optimized settings; Valorant also ran smoothly afterward. I updated drivers via Device Manager and even some recommendations from YouTube users. Despite these efforts, the problem persisted. I disabled core parking and adjusted NVIDIA settings to high performance. I also reinstalled everything and tried again, but nothing changed. Interestingly, other games continued functioning normally. In-game adjustments never stabilized the FPS, which often fluctuated above 60 even at higher settings. The situation is concerning given the device’s new condition, so I’m treating this as a serious concern. Over the past 48 hours, I’ve tested single-player mode with maximum settings, reaching up to 300 FPS, yet many maps failed to load regardless of adjustments.
Here are the available options: Minecraft settings, chunk distance, particle effects. The game can experience frame drops, but two monitors usually make a difference. It’s mainly about how detailed you run the game. You might want to try OptiFine as a launcher—it often boosts FPS and adjusts other game settings for better performance.
I also used OptiFine and BadLion, but nothing worked well. It seems like I only got a small 10 fps improvement at most.
