Regarding RGB connection in MSI MPG Gungnir 120R case
I'm starting my first PC build after almost two decades. Components are arriving within the next 2-3 days (hopefully). I'm trying to go through every detail before the parts arrive so I don't waste time during assembly. RGB was the least important until this morning. The cheapest case I found includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 2x2 port and comes with four RGB fans plus a six-fan controller. I think I've got most of it figured out, but I want to confirm. The photos I shared are my motherboard headers, and the only RGB instructions for the case are straight from the manufacturer's PDF manuals. My motherboard is an Asrock B650E PG Riptide, and the case is an MSI MPG Gungnir 120R. Based on what I've seen, the four extra cables from each fan labeled SYS_FAN connect to the motherboard—specifically the four chassis/water pump fan connectors shown in the photo. The one I'm unsure about is on the MSI diagram near the bottom right of the controller, which says "connect to MSI motherboard JRAINBOW connector." I'm guessing this connects to either the "1x RGB LED header" or one of the three addressable LED headers. I'm leaning toward the first option, but I'm not sure. Will everything be controlled solely through the RGB switch on my case, or will there be software for additional control? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The RGB controller comes with the case and connects all RGB cables, including fans, to a power cable via a SATA connector as shown in your diagram. The JRAINBOW connector provides 5V ARGB power and must be labeled JRAINBOW on your motherboard. Ask if you need further details.
It seems likely. You connected the jRAINBOW header to the addressable RGB headers (argb, 5V) on your Asrock board.
