Frame generation doesn’t always double the frames; it adjusts based on your settings and hardware. With frame generation enabled, it aims to reach a target refresh rate like 165Hz, but it doesn’t simply multiply the original frame count. Instead, it calculates the necessary frames dynamically, which can mean either boosting the actual output or adding artificial frames to hit the desired fps.
It doesn't always double your frame rate. It consistently increases input latency in every game, making performance feel like a lower framerate. When a game runs at 60fps with NVidia Reflex enabled, it can simulate 100fps through temporal tricks. Running at 45fps with Reflex on will make it act as if it's playing at 45fps.
