I've reviewed personal accounts regarding the Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 kits with ratings from CL18 to CL40. Focus is on timing improvements and general performance.

They work well when the motherboard matches them. I own them for an AMD 3600 Ryzen5. They perform quickly and consistently. Over the past few years, their quality has remained stable with Patriot. I recommend using them.

Each set offers unique features. It relies on several factors, such as the quality of the ICs and the imc. The best approach is to test them—like using a 3200 cl16/14 or a 3600 cl16 for zen 2—to see what works. QVL rankings are generally not crucial.

Purchase exactly what you need, not what you think you might want. For example, if you desire CL16, obtain CL16. Avoid purchasing CL18 with the aim of reducing it to CL16. Although you may extract more performance from it, you already have a clear acceptable starting point.

For me, everything starts with the budget. If I can land CL18 at a reasonable cost compared to CL16, I’m ready to adjust my schedule.
