Don't hold your breath for the x670 boards just yet—you're already eyeing Zen 3. It's a solid deal for a decent motherboard if you were planning a 3800XT, but hold off on Zen 3 models.
Since x670 is going to be the Last of the AM4 motherboards, I don't see the point in waiting. A B550 or X570 will last the distance of the final day of AM4.
There are two reasons to hold off. First, the price of the x570 board might fall. Second, the x670 boards could be more efficiently tailored for the Ryzen 4000. Others might confirm or dispute this likelihood.
You'll notice performance data on YouTube showing strong results with the 3600 on A320 and budget models such as B450 and B550. It's best to go with a B550 motherboard featuring USB-C for optimal use, rather than an X570.
OK then so, and I know there were a few above, what would be a good B550 to get? Just a few criteria, USB-C Header, and I would also like RGB (yes I know). I am not a specs guy, I just like to slap it together so which board would have the best spec for me and my criteria?
