Despite loving the Dead Island series, dying light wasn't appealing for solo sessions, but playing with friends works well.
It really hinges on whether you enjoy zombie games. If you're a fan and want to play alone, it won't be enjoyable. There are some issues with the game like losing experience points when you die, and you can even level up by being late at night—though it's tough for beginners. I'm around level 15 and still struggle to keep up. In short, it's fun only with friends. Level up quickly to climb the ranks and get useful items for moving around, but skip night missions until you're much stronger.
