Hey, I regularly have to deal with four streams of 10 bit 4K 160mb Long GOP footage. Our Threadripper system with 256GB of RAM and a 2080 Super just about handles this, as does a dual Xeon Gold 256GB RAM with Quadro HP Workstation. My Xeon system handles Intra much better than Long GOP and it looks like switching to Intra and dealing with 4x the data is the way to go because of compute requirements for Long GOP decoding, especially when hardware decoding isn't supported. I know there's other things like proxies, live cutting etc. Our turnarounds and camera movements don't make those options as feasible as brute forcing if it's even possible. If anyone has any suggestions as to what would actually be required, if it exists, to edit and be able to rack through Long GOP I'd love any insight because it's not standard so there's little info. Thanks!
