Adjusted the AMD 4300 CPU clock to 4.40ghz, yet Task Manager still shows 3.80-3.89ghz while gaming.

Asks about the motherboard being used and mentions overheating VRMs causing CPU speed reduction. Points out the GA-78LMT-USB3 Gigabyte model is the issue. Suggests the motherboard can't handle the required voltage, risking VRM damage or fire. Advises replacing both components or a new CPU for better performance.

It seems like it's overheating, so monitor your temperatures and consider using a better cooler.

What kind of motherboard do you have? It seems the VRMs on your board are getting hot, causing the CPU to slow down by reducing clock speeds and lowering voltage to prevent damage.
