Hey guys, I'm trying to cut down the parts list to around $2500. If possible, I'd like a 1080 resolution version, so it might fit better?
The watercooling parts list is quite large and could be reduced significantly. For instance, $32 for coolant isn't necessary. It would be possible to use distilled water with an antimicrobial additive for under $5. The pump you mentioned already has a top, but you also have another one in the cart. A smaller reservoir could be used instead. You can omit the ball valve. Barbs could replace compression fittings. Cheaper tubing would suffice, and you might only need up to 10 feet.
Buy a 1070 GTX and skip the TI, saving another $100. How long will that take? 😅

Agreed. Skip the 980ti and opt for a 1070 with a waterblock. Lower the PSU since 1000w is excessive. Also, I’ll get a MSI Z97 G45 Gaming board. They’re $120 new on Amazon, and I already own one—it’s excellent.

They’re 120$ new on Amazon, and I already own one, it works well. Your suggestion about the PSU is good, but I’m focusing on the thermal armor for my build. These ideas are really helpful!

Consented. Employ distilled water with a PT Nuke addition. The 650-watt power source should suffice unless you require a second GPU. Cooling via water won’t consume much power. The pump is the sole component needing energy besides fans, while my MCP655 draws about 35 watts at maximum speed. Other pumps typically operate near 10 watts.
