Reducing clock speed for performance optimization.
Reducing clock speed for performance optimization.
Checking for a simpler method to lower the temps on your system. The CPU is 7 5700X, GPU 4060Ti, with a 16GB RAM and AORUS Pro AX motherboard. Current limits are 70°C for CPU, 80°C for GPU, and idle temps around 45-50°C for CPU and 50-60°C for GPU. You want to reduce these numbers to extend life and avoid overclocking.
These temperatures are excellent and won’t cause any harm. To address your query, there isn’t a straightforward method to underclock like with overclocking. You’ll face a similar process as manual overclocking—adjust settings, start up, check stability, and iterate. Honestly, your effort in achieving such low temps inside a mini case was impressive.
I believe there is. Adjust the CPU by reducing its max frequency (uncertain for AMD), and lower the GPU temperature or power limits. Done. Though I concur with others on the nonproblem, I still suggest gently undervolting the GPU instead of underclocking. This cuts heat while keeping performance steady. Simple. To lower temperatures, avoid lowering component speeds. Managing power usage controls heat production. Limiting CPU and graphics power reduces their draw, which in turn cuts down heat. This approach may slow performance, but it keeps temperatures within acceptable ranges. For the CPU, tools like Ryzen Master or AMD Overclocking settings in BIOS help adjust PPT, EDC, and TDC. With the graphics card, MSI Afterburner lets you adjust power limits via a slider.
