Hello everyone. I’m looking for advice on improving my low FPS situation. When I play World of Warcraft on Ultra, I sometimes see 100 FPS but mostly around 40 in cities and raids. My PC setup is: CPU i7 3770 LGA 1155 (not overclocked), graphics Sapphire Radeon R9 280x with two 4GB modules (Kingston ACR512X64D3U13C9G), motherboard Acer Aspire M3985, PSU Thermaltake Berlin 630W, 80plus, HDD Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1000DM003. I recently added a 250GB Samsung SSD and an NZXT H440 case. My FPS fluctuates between 15 and 100, but it’s usually stuck around 40-50. I’m wondering if upgrading the GPU or RAM would help, or if my CPU is the main bottleneck. Also, could you suggest what to do next? Thanks in advance, Jijix.
Are the most recent GPU drivers up to date? How does GPU performance change during FPS fluctuations?
In games like WoW and MMOs, CPU usage is high. Maintaining good frames becomes tough with many players unless you use top hardware. Consider reducing settings such as Anti-aliasing, View Distance, Reflections, Shadows, and Clutter to boost FPS. Alternatively, switch to Very High or High presets instead of Ultra.
