Reduced frame rate and high GPU consumption with GTX 1080/R72700
I've attempted to play Far Cry 5 and Ghost Recon Wildlands; my FPS aren't bad, but they fall short of what I expect from my setup. Afterburner isn't functioning, yet the Wildlands benchmark shows my GPU usage is average at 76%, and I only manage 50 FPS on mixed high/ultra settings. On Far Cry 5, I achieve about 75 FPS on average in high settings. I've adjusted several options but nothing improved. My setup includes an MSI GTX 1080 with an R7 2700 and 16 GB RAM, running at 1080p.
What temperature readings are you checking? Which PSU do you need information about?
The temperatures are typical, near 65°C. The PSU isn't the issue; a 600-watt EVGA setup works fine.
I'll verify the CPU utilization and thread activity. It seems one core or thread is operating at full capacity, which could be restricting performance. Also, confirm whether RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4 with XMP enabled. Check if your BIOS, chipset drivers, and GPU drivers are current.
