Hello everyone, my HP Victus 16 (i5 12500H RTX 3060 16GB DDR5 RAM) is experiencing an issue. When using the laptop, its GPU power usage drops to just 30W, which is much lower than the usual 85-90W. Oddly enough, plugging in and unplugging the power cable restores normal operation. After reinstalling Windows 11 and updating drivers, I also changed the thermal paste.

Initial image indicates GPU operating at 400MHz with 30W draw. CPU is overheating as well. Additional info added June 12, 2024 by Levent

Did this occurrence start with your laptop or is it a newer development?

Your processor is working hard, possibly to protect the device. Alternatively, it might stem from a software problem linked to your Windows versions. I’d suggest setting your frame rate to 60, which you can adjust in-game for titles like BG3. Capping FPS at 60 will significantly reduce CPU strain and help keep temperatures down.
