Check the manufacturer's guidelines for your 8700K. Generally, you can safely lower the voltage by a few percent, but avoid going too low to prevent instability. Look for stable performance at lower voltages and adjust gradually while testing games. If you're unsure, start with small changes and monitor behavior.

I’ll examine my crystal ball once more... still nothing found. The outcome hinges on several factors, especially the quality of the silicon at your 8700K setting. Only you can confirm it yourself. I’ve already described the steps.

Check if you need a quick answer—just set it aside.

You're referring to the rock that influenced people's perceptions? It seems the 8700K really stands out.

when working with intel components or zen 1/zen+ systems, follow @ForScience's advice. for zen 2 setups, apply a negative voltage offset—like -0.05v (won’t affect performance) or -0.1v (could slightly reduce it, test with benchmarks). i typically run my 9900k at 1.05v, 4.4ghz, 95w most of the time unless playing competitive games, where power consumption drops by half compared to 5ghz. noticeable difference isn’t apparent with chrome.
