Reduce voltage on 11800H and 3060 Omen 17
Hey all, recently purchased an Omen 17 11800H + 3060 @ Microcenter. Currently dissatisfied with out of the box battery life (talking about -20 to -30W discharge rate with just Chrome + Discord , and OS came riddled with HP bloatware. Ended up downloading throttlestop to mess around for a bit until I eventually reinstall Win10 onto this machine. Wondering what your thoughts were on some of my settings applied. Keep in mind this is an open box unit and battery wear level is at -8% at the moment. Main goal is to improve battery as it will be used mostly for school/web surfing. Currently have 3 profiles set. Battery, Performance, and Failsafe. Battery has a -80mv offset applied to CPU Core + Cache, and a -50mv for iGP . This profile also has Turbo Disabled and an EPP of 192 . See below: This profile is not currently binded to a power plan (HP Recommended and Balanced are the ones that were available on stock) Should I select one of these? If so, what should the custom settings be (Min processor state and anything else) I have also set Profile 4 (Battery) to be the Battery profile in Options. So when on Battery Throttlestop will auto switch to this profile, and on AC Power it will switch to Profile 1 (Performance) Which I will get to soon. See below: Didn't touch much in the Performance profile, just lowered the EPP to 64 and applied a High Performance power plan to the profile. Minimum processor state is set to 100% though (what should this be? iirc having a min processor state below 100 can lead to higher sustained performance) I also have a failsafe/alarm profile, which should activate at 80c CPU. This profile just lowers max turbo frequencies to ratio of 32, + EPP of 192. Thoughts and opinions? Will get to undervolting the 3060 soon, don't see much point in that though because any scenario that will utilize the dGPU will be on AC power anyways (gaming mostly)
