I possess a 900mbps internet connection and utilize a Cat6 Ethernet cable directly connected to my PC from the Wi-Fi router. Just two days ago I switched to this Wi-Fi standard. When attempting to download games on Steam or Battle.net, the connection initially improves then suddenly halts for about thirty seconds before restarting and failing again. I managed to reach 100mb/s on Steam once. I suspect a storage issue since my drives slow down when downloading, though I’m unsure if it’s the download speed affecting them or the write speed impacting the download. Even with my SSD reporting 130mb/s write speed, the performance drops to zero. Testing on my mid-gaming laptop shows normal speeds with Ethernet, confirming Wi-Fi isn’t the problem. I also lowered my PC to a standard Ethernet connection and still experienced the same drop. I’ve updated the motherboard drivers and verified the specifications list 10/100/1000 Mbit. No applications appear to be throttling the speed. A photo is attached illustrating the significant interruption during downloads. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
