I'm working on lowering my CPU speed to prevent overheating on the R6s and Starfield. It's reaching 77-80°C during gaming, so I tried setting it to 4200MHz in BIOS but kept crashing. After switching to AMD Master, I put it in Eco mode, though Cinebench showed it hitting 83°C before stopping. I adjusted the fan curves, which helped a bit, but I'm unsure if underclocking or undervolting would be better. Could someone advise me on the best approach?

Of course cinebench will make ur CPU be higher temps then a game would, games dont stress out your CPU that much 1.Run cinebench with defaul configuration 2.Optimize ur fan curve to your temperature 3. Run cinebench again and see temps 4. Undervolt CPU 5.Run cinebench again and see temps If ur still not happy with ur temps then Underclock the CPU But may i ask what cooler and case are you running? 83 degrees looks okay for a 5900xt in cenbench but i would also try it in gaming

Search for a PBO manual specific to your CPU model. Otherwise, the situation appears acceptable—77-80°C is within normal operating limits for a processor.
