Ensure the BIOS on your board is current for the CPU you're using. This applies even if you take the chip off the board; follow Gigabyte's instructions for updating. The compatibility label doesn't guarantee a properly updated BIOS for your specific model.
I reached out to AMD for a bootkit and received a Ryzen 3 model around 1300. However, I'm still encountering the CPU error. Once I have more information, I'll share updates about any developments.
I checked what I found online about the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Wi-Fi debug LEDs. It seems this could be your board, but the light pattern might indicate a DRAM issue. If it doesn’t match your setup, please share a photo of the LEDs and their labels for better guidance. The QVL confirms a 1300 MHz support, and having CPU lights on with two different supported CPUs points to a hardware problem. Make sure the socket latch is engaging correctly—it’s easy to miss. Did you encounter any assembly problems, like using the wrong tool? Such mistakes can harm the board. Updated: Dec 3, 2022 by An0maly_76
I recorded a clip about a day after assembling everything (before I damaged the LEDs on my cooler pump). At that point, the 5500 CPU was installed with three fans connected to the CPU_opt and cpu_fan, and the last fan linked to system-fan3 near the 8pin CPU. The front fans were routed through a fan splitter to the bottom system fan pump. I’m not sure what I connected initially, but I’ll review videos or photos to confirm my setup. I noticed two red LEDs lit up during the process, which I didn’t catch at first because I assumed they were part of the board. The video was taken on November 16, 2022. I have time now to retry everything and check if it boots correctly. If not, I’ll consider a replacement.
Yes, that's the CPU LED. Confirming your 4 or 8-pin CPU power is properly connected. The USB header seems slightly misaligned, which might affect the connection. It might be worth pulling the connector and inspecting the pins for any bends. While this could happen, the 4/8 pin CPU power could be the issue. If the PSU isn't providing the right voltage on that rail, it could lead to problems with the board.
Long-awaited update on the CPU LED problem. I switched to an MSI B550 motherboard, but the CPU still shows a light and won’t boot with the AMD Bootkit. The MSI model includes a flashback button, which should resolve the issue. I’m expecting a 3060ti graphics card soon for the remaining component I need. My current setup includes: MSI B550 2 in 1TB NVMe SSD (32GB now, planning 64GB), Ryzen 5 5500 CPU (upgrade likely later), Enermax LIQUID CPU 360mm cooler with Phanteks case and twin fans, MSI 3060ti Ventus 2X 12OC fans, 650W bronze power supply (soon replacing with a Corsair 550W), 165Hz 1080p monitor. I also noticed wiring mistakes from the old board—other builds showed the fan pump wire wasn’t reaching it on my previous setup, but now it works perfectly here.
