Has Red Dead Redemption 2’s problems been fixed? People considered it one of the worst PC game launches due to numerous issues, including inability to run and poor performance even with high-end hardware. Reviewers with Intel i7 and i9 processors and GTX 2080 graphics cards experienced difficulty achieving a consistent 60 fps, with constant stuttering and freezing. My specifications are an Intel i5 8600K and GTX 1070. The optimization is unacceptable; I can play other games at high or ultra settings at 1080p resolution with a consistent 60fps. Being forced to use low settings to achieve this, or even boot the game, due to poor optimization is unreasonable, and I will not purchase the game. I was awaiting patches to address these problems.

I have been playing for approximately one week using an i7-8700k processor, a 2080 Super graphics card, and it has generally performed well. With most settings set to high or ultra, I consistently achieve frame rates of around 100-120 frames per second on a 1080p 144Hz monitor. I purchased the game approximately one week after its launch and was unaware of any previous issues or persistent problems; I began playing ten days ago and the performance has been satisfactory.

The article suggests a problematic process involving an Nvidia hotfix, parameter removal, and uncertain results. A more stable, permanent solution is preferable. It should be straightforward to install and launch the game without extensive troubleshooting, particularly given the high cost of the title.

My systems in my signature. Playing at 1080p @ 144hz. Textures on Ultra & everything else on Medium with 1 or 2 options on Low and I get smooth performance. I don’t have an exact FPS to give you & everyone’s idea of “smooth” differs but if the game's self-benchmark is accurate, I achieved: Highest – 98 FPS, Average – 68 FPS, Lowest – 48 FPS. Not sure what was up with the “8’s but that’s what I got, after the decimal points were dropped. Other than that, I have not experienced any of the problems others were reporting. In my opinion, it's nowhere near as buggy a port as GTA 4 was. That game was a performance nightmare for me.

I will be delayed in purchasing it; I had intended to do so this week.
