Red Dead Redemption 2 changed my gaming experience.
Red Dead Redemption 2 changed my gaming experience.
It’s valuing the options available, GT achieved a unique visual style, I don’t think visuals are superior, they’re just personal moments to savor anytime. Refresh your inner child—back then, good and bad graphics were indistinguishable, all about fun and pleasure.
I've always believed many titles, regardless of age, possess qualities that make them stand out. Let's consider the first Midnight Club on the PS2 as an example. It adapted the formula from Midtown Madness and successfully ran on a CD for the PS2, performing well with its hardware. Although it doesn't have a strong visual impact, it shows how developers handled launch challenges. Gran Turismo 3 also impressed; the wet versions of Special Stage Route 5 and 11 looked impressive, significantly better than previous Polyphony work from GT Sport. This was back in 2001! I could easily discuss many memorable games, such as Test Drive Unlimited being the first modern open-world racing title (similar to Forza Horizon today), but my main idea remains that numerous games maintain their value over time.
GranTurismo2 with some filtering for jaggies... Emulated and downsampled, really enjoying it. Playing GT6 on PS4 didn't spoil GT2 for me... I'm just glad I can run it smoother than the older systems. TestDriveUnlimited 1 is a solid example... it messed with other games for me at times.
Infinite range options available with a wide variety of features.
Man, seeing Transformers on the PS2 takes me back. It’s been a while, but it still works. There are many PS2 games that managed to do amazing things even with the system’s limitations—because the hardware had some pretty cool tricks. Silent Hill 2 is a great example; it really made use of the console’s alpha fill rate to create its fog effects, which didn’t come close to being reproduced outside the original version.
I own the original XBOX port of SH2, though I must admit it falls short. If you're aware, the Xbox was generally a much better console overall. However, the PS2 came with incredible alpha fill rates and impressive effect handling—thanks largely to its massive 2560-bit bus bandwidth—which allowed it to outperform even the PS3 and Xbox 360 in HD remasters.
It looks like you're expressing a personal opinion. Yes, RDR2 is quite appealing, but it doesn’t prevent you from enjoying other less popular titles.
