Setting up a new AM5 machine quickly leads to problems. Once I install the AMD drivers, the screen turns black and the red CPU indicator lights up. After booting, the system briefly reaches the Windows login screen before crashing. Restarting in safe mode with the drivers removed allows normal operation again—until I reinstall the AMD drivers. The motherboard displays LED patterns and eventually shuts down completely. This occurs regardless of OS or driver version, including those provided by the motherboard manufacturer. However, Microsoft’s AMD driver from the Windows update (31.0.12027.7000) is marked as stable. Running Cinebench for 10 minutes with this GPU driver produced expected results both with the integrated iGPU and a separate dedicated GPU. Disabling the iGPU in BIOS seems to trigger the issue earlier during startup. I’ve checked for shorts, replaced the motherboard, and tried a different CPU, but nothing resolves it. The power supply is solid at 850W, and I’m testing a bare system with minimal load. CPU temperatures stay within normal ranges. When the system freezes, the power button stops working; I must use the PSU switch to shut it down. It appears the motherboard itself may be faulty. Anyone have encountered this situation before?
Which GPU should we use? Since drivers begin to leverage GPU capabilities, the hardware might be faulty. Also note—slightly shaky DDR5 settings can ruin your Windows setup and lead to various problems. Disable EXPO, open Command Prompt as Administrator, and execute DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. After that, run SFC /scannow to resolve any corrupt files. These steps will address issues caused by unstable RAM configurations.
Occurs with both integrated and dedicated GPUs, but the drivers interact with both, which explains it. Happens without a GPU installed, confirming the dedicated one isn’t the cause. Seems unrelated to memory problems at this point, since running Cinebench works smoothly without AMD drivers, though I’m glad to hear that. Only one memory is available for testing right now. I also reinstalled Windows, and the issue remains unchanged, which is reassuring.

I sent back the motherboard and bought another brand/model. Still couldn't figure out the issue.
