My interaction with Windows 11 has been extremely frustrating due to numerous unresolved issues and annoyances. This is just one example. I had to reset my BIOS before installing and was trying to set up my overclocks once more. Initially, the same configurations that functioned perfectly in Windows 10 now completely failed on Windows 11. It would start endlessly into the startup repair screen, repeatedly failing and requiring a reboot. Eventually, it led me to the recovery menu. However, the situation has worsened. The recovery option is now completely unusable—even the command prompt can't run any meaningful commands, and the advanced startup feature is missing entirely. This left me in a difficult position. When I used the Windows installer USB to fix things, the same problems persisted. There were no advanced startup settings available. Oddly enough, after restarting and pressing F11 while Windows attempted to load, it managed to boot. I’m unsure why this happened or what it meant, but I’m stuck. If you have any corrupted files or startup problems, you’re likely in a tough spot. I should mention I’m running a 6700k processor, which might be contributing to the overclocking issue since it’s unsupported, though other factors could be at play.
This indicates your OC was never reliable from the start. A fresh program with updated guidelines lets the CPU reveal its instability through its OC process. I can confirm that Startup settings are far below Win11 standards, just like Command Prompt, maintaining the same constraints as older versions like Vista, 7, 8.x, and 10.
I've been using the same version for five years now. Very stable, nothing has failed. After switching back to Windows 10, everything ran smoothly. Just learned that Microsoft plans to end support for Windows 10 in 2025 and will stop selling product keys by month’s end. It's surprising how they're making so many older systems become outdated by pushing Windows 11 everywhere. I'm likely upgrading in a couple of years. However, I think I'll begin transitioning to Linux soon. The lack of game and VR support there is really frustrating.
