Hey everyone, I’m feeling a bit anxious right now. While organizing my external drive and sorting through old Black Ops 2 clips, I moved some footage into a new CSGO video folder. Unintentionally, I deleted the entire folder, which contained several years of valuable videos. I’m really worried about recovering the data and would appreciate any advice or help you can offer! Thanks a lot! EDIT: I noticed a file named $RECYCLE.BIN but it doesn’t seem to hold useful content. Here’s a screenshot. Spoiler alert!

Chrome OS can't restore lost information unless it's backed up in Google Drive. You may still get some or all of your data by connecting the drive to another operating system and using a recovery program.

I'll attempt this on my PC when I get a chance. Appreciate it!

Create an image of the drive first.

How are you planning to handle that? The entire process feels like a terabyte.

Create an image on another storage device. Use an external HDD for backups if needed. These backups are useful.

It's frustrating. You're short on space and need to recover data from a large external drive. You're torn between backing up only the files you need or creating a full image of everything.

Do you need another hard drive? You should already have backed up your files; it’s too late now. How valuable are the data? If they’re crucial, just send them to a recovery service.

It seems like you're considering letting go of some old Call of Duty videos from three years ago, especially those precious childhood recordings. You're thinking about organizing them—maybe moving what you can to another drive and keeping the rest safely stored. It's understandable to want to preserve these memories while managing your storage space.

Consider trying photorec, but ensure you create an image first.
