I've noticed some persistent internet problems despite strong Wi-Fi signals. Even when devices show good bars and are near the modem, connections drop unexpectedly. To isolate the issue, you could connect a laptop directly to the modem via Ethernet and disable its Wi-Fi. This would let you test your link without interference. For logging, consider using a simple script or tool that records ping results over time, saving them as a report. This way you can track failure instances clearly.

I did this using my parents' connection and a RPi4. It may take time to create logs for ping and speed, but you'll have solid proof to present to your ISP. You can achieve strong signals near the WiFi source, though issues might occur if your area is busy or has interference. A wireless channel analysis with tools like WiFiman or WiFi Analyzer would be useful.

Unfortunately, it's hard to pinpoint interference from non-WiFi sources. I've stopped trying to figure out why my WiFi fluctuates between 900Mbit and 500Mbit without other networks using similar channels. It seems like nearby devices might be using wireless HDMI or something similar.
