Generally, Cisco or Scientific Atlantis and Arris or Motorola will work well. Ensure it’s Docsis 3.0. Aim for a 16-channel downstream modem to allow future upgrades beyond 25Mbps. After selecting a modem, review this guide to confirm compatibility with Xfinity or Comcast: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles...ble-modems

The SB6121 would function, though many claims circulate about its impending discontinuation. It seems Comcast might phase out all 4x4 and 8x4 modems soon. The SB6121 can handle up to 100 Mbps speeds. I recommend the CM600 (24x8) for broader compatibility. Avoid Docsis 3.0 models due to chip issues; for future Gigabit needs, consider Docsis 3.1.

Thanks for sharing the link and advice! The CM600 seems like a solid choice for you too. Do you think the CM500 would work well? I’m pretty sure I won’t need speeds over 60-100 Mbps in the next five years. Appreciate the help and the detailed info!

CM500 works adequately. It should exceed 200 Mbps. Remember, it's just a modem, so you might need a router if you don't have one.
