Consider your options carefully. The Asus ROG Strix B550 and ROG X570 are both compatible with Ryzen 4000 Series chips, so you can choose based on preferences. The B550 offers a more compact design, while the X570 provides slightly better performance in some benchmarks. If you're targeting a 3080 GPU, ensure your cooling solution fits and that the motherboard supports it. For overall performance, the X570 might edge out the B550 in gaming and workloads. Always check the latest specs before making a decision.
The X570 and B550 are essentially the same model. Choose either one. Keep in mind that any board bought today won’t support BIOS for unreleased CPUs. If you’re waiting, check if the X670 chipset is available later so you can use a compatible chipset for Ryzen models.
B550 and x570 can support zen 3 with a bios update. Though if you're waiting for zen 3 then buy a board then and not now.
Studies suggest no native boards for Zen 3 have been announced yet. Some believe the X570/B550 might be reserved for Zen 3 for a short period following its launch, though they won’t extend beyond that version. Still, it remains speculation. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any recent news or upcoming announcements about a x670 or similar models.
