In 2020 I purchased a pre-built gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 3700X, which I later overclocked. I upgraded my setup by adding an XFX RX 580 with 8GB and 16GB RAM, and expanded my storage to 32GB using two 2TB SSDs. The ASRock B450M/AC motherboard performed well initially but became slower during gaming sessions. Since I don’t play intense games, I upgraded again with a Ryzen 9 5900X, an XFX RX 6700XT, and 64GB of RAM. Recently, I swapped the B450M for a B550 Tomahawk Max and replaced the PSU with a Corsair 750W. I’m unsure if my PSU was too low or if the 750W is sufficient, which is making me confused.

750w suits your needs perfectly. No need to stress about it. Corsair is also a solid choice.

It's sufficient with a 750W power supply for that project. Keep in mind the B550 Tomahawk Max features a top PCIe 4.0 x16 port and a bottom PCIe 3.0 x16 port. This configuration might become relevant later if you require higher GPU performance, even though your current arrangement doesn't show it. According to the datasheet, there is one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot available.

You operate the device by engaging in casual gaming experiences. You’re wondering about the specifications behind its performance and why it might slow down after installing many applications. You’re also interested in how you assess its responsiveness.

I installed 64GB of RAM because of Garry’s mod CDML issues caused by insufficient memory. I kept all background applications closed, and during a Need for Speed session with the 6700XT and the older 3700X, I only achieved 46 FPS. They told me I was creating a severe bottleneck with the CPU, which really confused me since the 3700X isn’t even considered an old processor.
