Recently assembled ASUS Z590TUF with 10900 core fails to boot. POSE halts after DRAM verification.
Hi, I was assembling a PC with an ASUS Z590 TUF and an Intel 10900 CPU. Once I connected the power cables, I attempted to boot the system but saw no display. When I activated the four LED lights, the CPU indicator flickered in and out, followed by the DRAM light switching on and off, then the VGA LED also came on and off. Eventually, nothing further occurred. I checked online that the VGA light should illuminate, but it didn’t in my case. Other components like fans, LEDs, and the AIO were functioning normally, but there was still no display and the VGA LED remained off. Could a faulty PSU or motherboard be the cause?
Looking to join the discussions! Detailed info would help evaluate your setup. Have you attempted resetting CMOS? Verify that all RAM slots are securely fastened (commonly referred to as DIMMs). Inspect every power cord connection.
Current components installed: Mobo model Asus z590 tuf gaming, CPU Intel core 10900, RAM g.skill trident rgb 3200mhz 16gb, AIO asus ryuo 120 M.2, WD Black SN 750 1tb + WD Black SN 850 500gb, GPU evga gtx 1080ti, PSU evga 750w. This was removed from my previous system. I reset the CMOS by connecting the 2-pin CLRTC, as shown on the ASUS website. After installation, I installed the RAM with a click sound when it was seated. Reconnected all cables—MB power, 8pin ATX, 4pin ATX, and VGA.
Reinstall the CPU. Verify the display is connected to the GPU. Ensure both ends of the PCIE cables are secured. If issues persist, attempt using an iGPU and connect the display to the motherboard.
Updates: I finally managed to get it working. The process involved disconnecting all components from the motherboard and attempting a boot whenever a new part was added. I successfully started without the WD black NVMe SSD, and entered BIOS. It seems the BIOS recognized and set up the CPU and RAM at that point. After that, I reinserted the SSDs into the M.2 slots and turned it on, which caused the system to restart multiple times, re-recognizing the SSDs and properly displaying everything in BIOS. Thanks everyone for your support in this matter. Your encouragement meant a lot when I needed it most. Thank you.
