I’m trying to relive some old times with this game. It started working when I booted it up, but it jumps to a low resolution around 640x440. When I try 2560x1440, the game freezes and won’t respond. I thought maybe it wasn’t built for that size, so I reset it and tried 1080p too. Still nothing. Raising the resolution by one level didn’t help either. I’ve reinstalled it and adjusted settings, but nothing changes. I’m not sure what’s wrong or how to fix it. I remember playing it on my first PC in 2010 at 1600x900 without issues. Even tweaking the sound volume made it behave the same. Any suggestions would be a huge relief.

Check for compatibility settings on an older Windows version. Please be patient as we resolve this together.

Sorry about that. I’m having trouble figuring out how to switch to compatibility mode.

I believe you simply right-click the game icon and open Properties, which should lead to a compatibility section. It looks like Windows 7 is the target version. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...:~:text=In the search box on the taskbar%2C type the name,Select Run compatibility troubleshooter.

There are two executable files to start, one labeled for Windows 8 and another for Windows Vista.

Consider trying one option and observe the outcome. Likely, one will succeed.

When I run Windows 8, this occurs; selecting yes or no both shows this. For Vista, it happens again when you select yes or no.

Do you truly click the right-click button on the .exe file and then open Properties to adjust compatibility? You’ll notice this option appears there.

Sure thing! Go ahead and give it a shot—I’m here for it.

I attempted both versions but the problem persists during testing. Opening the game still causes the same issue, and launching it results in the same unresolved res change. The main monitor disappears, and I can't access it unless I manually close it in Task Manager.
