So around six months ago, someone cleaned and formatted my laptop. At the time, I was using Windows 8.1 64bit that worked perfectly. After the cleaning, my device began crashing and freezing whenever I tried to play games. The issue has grown more intense over the last three months, and now even some games like DotA 2 won't run. Initially, I assumed it was a RAM problem, so I replaced it with a new Corsair module, hoping it would resolve the issue. But it didn’t help much. Eventually, I realized my laptop was running a pirated version of Windows 8 Pro 64bit. I’m confused about what happened to my original OS and can’t even boot up BIOS properly. Today I tried updating, but got an error saying "Current bios can not recognize the ROM type." I’m exhausted from constantly shutting down my laptop and struggling to start it, especially when trying to launch games. I’m also unsure how to fix the BIOS or update Windows without being able to boot at all.

It appears they fully wiped your hard drive and then reinstalled the Windows version they were using. Companies risk serious consequences for downloading and installing pirated Windows.

You have a rather unsettling laptop already, huh? I don’t recommend using dual graphics cards in a laptop—they’re a hassle. Try updating your BIOS with the newest patch and reinstalling all drivers from the manufacturer’s site.
