Hello, I recently switched from my previous 750-watt PSU to a new Rosewill CMG 1000-watt modular power supply. I’m encountering some problems. After removing the old PCIe connector, CPU, and 24-pin cables from the motherboard, I connected the new PSU’s cables into their designated slots. Once everything was set up, all except the CPU fans powered on. The graphics card worked fine, the motherboard booted up normally, but the fans and the AIO pump failed to start. On the BIOS screen, my CPU temperatures are spiking dramatically, and the system shuts down immediately when it reaches 100°C. When I swapped in the old PSU with its original cables, everything functioned correctly. I’ve also tried using both of the CPU cables from the new PSU, but neither worked. I’m unsure what I might have missed. It seems like something very small could be causing this issue. I’m using an ASUS TUF X570 Plus Wi-Fi motherboard. Thanks for your help.

Troll. For your guidance, inspect every plug, power and signal connections. Verify they’re correctly placed and set the BIOS back to defaults.

They seem able to revert to their previous power supply and it should function properly. This strongly suggests the problem isn't related to a cable or a troll. Stay calm.

It seems the components rely on the 12V supply, meaning any power problem would affect everything connected to that rail, not just the fans and pump. What other parts are part of the setup?

When you power it up, the BIOS says no CPU fans are detected and suggests pressing F1 or going into BIOS to run a setup. It seems the issue isn’t about fan speeds but something else. You mentioned looking online for CMOS reset ideas, but those seem unrelated. I’m not sure what’s causing the problem—have you checked the BIOS settings for any changes or settings that might affect fan control?

Could you share a photo of your PC's interior? We need to verify all components are connected properly. Also, did you connect the pump and configure it in BIOS as a pump header?

I’m confident everything is connected properly. This isn’t my first attempt at assembling the PC, so the pump is indeed located in the pump header. Everything is positioned correctly and functioned as expected before. I’m only swapping out the power supply. It’s just a matter of replacing four cables. I even tested using the original cables on the new PSU, but it didn’t work. I’m beginning to suspect the PSU itself might be the issue, even though it’s brand new.

It's worth considering the Rosewell CFG1000's multiple 8-pin slots for connecting CPUs or PCIe devices. Have you explored other available slots?
