Hi, my recent PC has stopped working again after a couple of failures. When it first came online, the BIOS loaded properly into the OS. Both times the motherboard display appeared, I could disable it and access the BIOS settings, but when trying to boot Windows it shows a black screen with no signal. I made sure the HDMI cable was connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard, since I know the CPU lacks built-in graphics. Previously, after reinstalling Windows completely, the issue persisted even after a fresh install. I also updated the BIOS via q-flash to version 63c but didn’t see any improvement. I’m attempting to install Windows 10 Education edition (64-bit). The disk integrity tool reported NTFS file system which is write-protected. After reinstalling from a USB drive, the error continued. There’s no beep code or other indicator, and I haven’t consulted the motherboard manual. This is my first build, so I’m unsure what to do next. PARTS: Inland 1TB M.2 SSD Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI Teamgroup 16GB 2x8 Powercolor Fighter RX6600 8GB AMD Ryzen 5 5600. Updated: I also used a live USB of Ubuntu to try booting, which lets me reach the screen and select Ubuntu but then just displays the AORUS interface with no signal. I’m still stuck, lol. Consider two options to reset CMOS in BIOS while ensuring your SSD is selected as the boot drive.

You removed the battery from the motherboard to refresh the CMOS, then reinserted it. After that, you booted from the Windows boot manager on the SSD. It’s still not working, which is unusual.

This setup feels unusual for a brand-new board, though it might be due to a depleted CMOS battery. Windows could behave differently each time the BIOS updates. Consider replacing the 2032 battery and see how it affects performance.

I tried this, but something new appears before then. The VGA indicator on the motherboard stays on, and the BIOS fails to appear.

The battery remains obstructing the setup. CMOS unset may prompt the CPU to reply, "Hey, no video detected—anything?" If your power supply is 750W, try it; otherwise, consider replacing it if budget allows, as 600-650W fits iGPUs with minimal power draw.

Ah, that's actually the new battery. Probably got the wrong wattage due to PC part picker. I'll see if I can return my PSU and get a replacement on Tuesday. Thank you so much for your help.
