You've recently assembled your second PC and it's been stable for four days. It would shut down unexpectedly a few times daily, with temperatures hovering near 40°C. Last week it didn't shut down randomly. Now it only stays on for about 6 or 7 seconds before restarting, sometimes briefly or longer. The system powers up, boots through error codes, then stops mid-process. After a short pause, it tries again. This cycle repeats until you intervene. The specs are: Intel Core i9-11900K, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Asus ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO ATX, G.Skill Ripjaws V, 2x 16GB DDR4, Western Digital Blue SSD, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080, and a 500DX ATX case.

I think it's the power supply unit, though you seemed to be doubting it right after connecting the motherboard.

It wouldn’t be unexpected that the PSU would cease working. A 750W model paired with a 3080 rating is generally not advisable.

You'd likely opt for the EVGA G1+ 1000 W instead of the 750 W model.

Did you play games or handle a demanding task while these issues occurred? Would you like to try using a different power supply unit? It’s likely you’ve already reset the CMOS.

I was normally gaming and on discord when the crashes happened. I do not have another psu available to use for a booting test. I had cleared the CMOS as well yes.

Did they consistently run together? You referenced CPU temperatures, but I don’t have GPU data. Did the fans increase noticeably? Yes, they were getting louder.

No, it remains ACRF. Choose a PSU with an LLC design such as Adata XPG Core Reactor, Cooler Master V-series Gold V2, Corsair RMx/HX, EVGA Supernova G6/P6, or Super Flower Leadex III Gold. Thermaltake GF1 PE/PF1 works well. 850 watts is more than enough.

It was almost always fine, just a single instance without any issues. The CPU and GPU kept operating safely, and I wouldn’t notice the fans running.

What games were you playing? Did you check the power consumption as well? Were you adjusting the overclock settings? Did the GPU use two separate cables or one daisy chain for both 8-pins? You referred to this as your second PC—maybe try that PSU with the older parts to test it?
