It's accurate. A faulty BIOS update can render your motherboard nonfunctional. Additionally, you don't have to spend money on this—it's quite simple to handle.

Generally, you don’t have to change your BIOS unless there’s a particular reason. Even then, it’s not something you should pay someone else to handle. Occasionally an update is necessary—for instance, upgrading from an older AM4 board to support a newer Ryzen processor requires a BIOS update. It’s straightforward if you ever need to make the change.
