Recent model, unable to access BIOS settings.
New installation completed. Familiarized with BIOS on both boards initially but changes led to persistent loading issues. Here’s the component list: CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 5600X RAM – CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 32GB 3600MB. Began with Asus ROG Strix B550-A, then switched to MSI Tomahawk B550 Mag Max Wi-Fi PSU. Power supply – Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 Series. Graphics – ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 White OC Edition 8GB M.2. Storage – WD Black 1TB SN770. First power-on attempt failed; I checked the monitor, suspecting it wasn’t powered on or input incorrect. Uncertain exact steps but managed to post. Configured XMP for proper DDR4 speed and ensured Secure Boot was enabled. Followed PC build tutorial from a video. After saving and restarting, nothing happened. Multiple tries yielded no results. Monitor would activate as if seeking display output, then displayed "No HDMI signal." Eventually cleared CMOS using a jumper and returned to BIOS. Despite correct XMP settings and Secure Boot, the system reset to default. I attempted to boot from Windows installation drive (USB) – successful. However, when inserting Windows code, an error appeared stating the PC didn’t meet Windows 11 requirements, attributed to Secure Boot/TPM issues. I believed I’d altered BIOS settings, so I selected "Load Default" in BIOS and saved/restarted. Still couldn’t access BIOS. Reseating components, clearing CMOS, and flashing BIOS didn’t resolve the problem. Second attempt: Purchased an MSI motherboard expecting a fix; same issue persisted. Removed battery for a short while to clear CMOS and returned to BIOS. Set XMP only, saved, restarted – no access to BIOS. After that, I could not enter BIOS. Tried power cycling, clearing CMOS, and re-flashing the BIOS. Nothing worked. Third attempt: Disassembled everything, applied power to CPU and 24-pin connector, but CPU wasn’t installed. Flashed BIOS on MSI board as per video guidance. Followed instructions carefully. Assembled again – still no success. *Each boot cycle begins with fans spinning up, then slowing before resuming, four boot LED lights flashing through MB. Monitor illumination appears when attempting display, then turns blue with "No HDMI signal" message.* Today I’m visiting my brother’s house to test GPU and RAM in a fresh system. Still puzzled by the intermittent BIOS access on two different boards, but XMP configuration always caused the BIOS to disappear. Update: Tested RAM and GPU in new setup – both functioned properly. Experimented with laptop connected via monitor – everything worked fine. Tried various keyboards without resolving the issue. Concluded that the problem stemmed from BIOS settings. Resolved by replacing the CPU, though it still produced the same symptoms. In a final effort, I connected a display pot and successfully booted into Windows. Edit: March 6, 2023 – JoshLatta2012
5600X lacks onboard and AM4 doesn’t support IGPU on the board. The user needs a GPU for booting. The problem lies with the RAM XMP profile not syncing properly with the CPU. Clear the CMOS on your motherboard, then set your RAM’s timing and speed manually, increasing the voltage by 0.1 above the spec. Even at 3600 MHz, stable performance depends on having quality RAM for Ryzen. If stability persists, don’t just use 1.5V—try booting at +1 to the CAS latency (the first two digits on the RAM label).
Removed CMOS battery for 20 minutes, device was off and unplugged. Problem persists. Checked manual instructions and reset with a jumper wire, but issue remains.
