Since this year MW2 seems to be failing completely at random, I spent around 40 hours trying to fix it, but nothing lasting. Occasionally I can play without problems, but the next day everything goes wrong. My setup includes an RTX 4090, i9-13900K, and a ROG STRIX Z790-H gaming Wi-Fi. I manage to play every other game smoothly, while MW2 just won’t cooperate. I consistently encounter Error Code 0x00001338. All drivers are updated, the game runs in admin, and Steam also works in admin mode. I’ve adjusted settings like reducing graphics, changing monitors, switching GPUs, clearing shader caches, reinstalling, and even performing a full disk wipe (SSD 980 PRO). I turned off overlays and other options. Recently, the loading screen showed a corrupt files warning, and after reinstalling, some files still disappeared or failed to download. I also installed an outdated graphics driver before these issues started, but it didn’t help. If anyone knows a solution, please share it.
