Check for an HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI cable running from your monitor to your computer.
However, because it’s external, I’m uncertain how to determine if it’s connected to the graphics card. I examined some settings in Windows a few days ago and saw something that seemed to indicate display output was coming from the GPU – though I'm not certain about this.
Examine closely.
