it wouldn't seem reasonable to ignore it since it still helps with productivity and doesn't cause much lag in games. however, the 9950x really struggles with multithreading, but unless you're doing heavy parallel tasks the gap won't be obvious. arrowlake imc performs better than amd, so you might be able to exceed 9000 ddr5 if you're willing to try. i'm still unsure about the 4dimmer asus board for high-frequency ddr5.
This is just an update for anyone who cares. I regret nothing, lol. I made sure to update the BIOS and enabled the moderate overclocking profile. I was incorrect about the motherboard it came with. It turned out to be an ASUS Z890 MAX GAMING WIFI7 . I believe this is a superior board based on features and I/O alone. Initial benches are good; Cyberpunk, with everything cranked and ray tracing and DLSS maxed, is hitting an average of 112FPS. Doom Eternal in Ultra Nightmare is holding steady; I'm unsure how to disable the frame lock of 60fps. But it keeps it and doesn't dip. Both are easily playable in those settings, but practically, I will probably lower some of the more taxing things. Applications and all my workstation apps (Reaper Audio, Sony Vegas, OSB, etc.) All run as smooth as butter. Thermals are great.
