Receiving 1000 gigabytes per second internet isn't always necessary for your needs.
I've recently installed a new computer and attempted various solutions to boost its speed beyond 100mbps. I've experienced 1gbps fluctuations over months with fiber internet, while my previous setup ran smoothly. The motherboard supports speeds above 1 gbps, and network settings are correctly configured with speed and duplex at 2.5 gbps. Services are set to automatic on the WLAN, I'm using the right cable, and my modem+router combo is configured to accept 1500 gb. I'm struggling and would value any advice. My system specs are: Intel i-7 12700k, 8G RAM, 4GB LPDDR4X, 4080 MHz, MSI MPG Z690, Edge Wifi, DDR4.
Internet speeds are typically measured in megabits per second, not megabytes. This isn't about conversion, but about the unit used.
Have you saved the appropriate drivers for your network management? Are you completely confident your cable is connected properly? Here’s the expected format:
I understand, there seems to be some confusion about network terms. It looks like the problem isn't a connection issue, and everything is functioning at expected speeds from your old computer—downloads and uploads are handling 800+ with your phone and tablets managing around 400+.
My old setup worked smoothly with the cable during both moves and after switching to gig internet. I believe the driver updates were completed. Intel Support Assistant confirmed I have the latest drivers for Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Here’s what it says: Compared to what I see on the MSI Drivers website.
You confirmed the date correctly, but it looks like the date was missed. For setting up the drivers, use the ZIP file provided and follow the instructions in the folder. If you're unsure about the setup, check the documentation or contact support for guidance.
Usually just double-click to start, also use Opera GX, great!
I'm a dedicated gamer xD. After running autorun.exe, the computer restarted and everything stayed the same—driver date unchanged, speed tests still show nothing different. When I try auto.exe, it mentions the missing Autorun.ini and Autorun.exe. I'm not sure what to do next.
I didn't download it from anywhere specific. I can share the hardware ID if you provide it, and I'll include just the shortest version for you.
