I've never used VR before, nor have I been interested in it. I received an Oculus Quest 2 from someone and am now exploring it. The main concern is finding compatible games on Steam's Fall Sale. I don't want a title that won't work with my device. I recently tried Half Life Alyx because it's recommended as the top VR experience, and it claims compatibility via the link cable. I'm unsure which other titles are available at the moment. I avoid Beat Saber due to shoulder discomfort from sword-like motions. Star Wars isn't on my list either. Playing Half Life Alyx was manageable for my shoulders, and I can handle aiming weapons easily. Thanks everyone! Happy Goble Gobble day to my USA friends!

I don’t have a Quest personally, so my understanding might be off, but any VR game should work with standard connections. With the cable, it mainly serves as a screen. The computer handles the heavy lifting. For controls, they should function normally too.

I own the Rift S. It’s not officially backed but it seems to work with most VR titles available. You should be able to play any VR game you’re interested in. I don’t really enjoy games that require a lot of movement; I prefer flying and racing experiences where I can stay seated. So far, Assetto Corsa Project Cars 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator Next are on my list, with DCS coming next.

Do you favor a particular style of game?

Preferences include:
- FPS titles such as HL:Alyx Boneworks Pavlov Arizona Sunshine (Better coop) After the fall
- Sim Racing Project Cars 2 for more simulation and multiplayer fun
- Assetto Corsa offering intense driving experience
- Dirt Rally 2.0 Flight Sim for aviation enthusiasts
- Microsoft Flight Simulator for general flying and sightseeing
- DCS World for WWII era aircraft and combat training

If you want to test modules, use the standalone installer for a limited time on the official site—50% off first purchase regardless of quantity.

Other titles worth noting:
- IL-2 for historical combat scenarios
- Vtol VR designed for VR controllers
- Space Sim for space travel simulation
- All games gain more value with physical or joystick input.

I purchased Half Life Alyx during the Steam Sale since it's highly recommended. As someone who enjoys story-driven titles, I'm drawn to well-crafted narratives. I might consider Flight Sim if it appeals to me. My Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Flight Sim and No Mans Sky, so I won't need to buy those separately. However, if they meet my expectations, I'll download them. I've been told Flight Sim requires a powerful system, but I have an RTX 2070 which should handle it.

You might need to adjust some settings slightly, but you should achieve smooth gameplay on NMS and MSFS. Your ITX VR system with a 1080Ti can run playable frames with Reverb, though I had to lower detail and render settings until performance improved. Both titles are quite demanding on the hardware.
