I received a 1512600k and overclocked it too much, then it was returned. A new processor is coming in. I've removed the battery and CMOS jumper for about three days. With the new chip, should the problematic setting still be active and remain set? Should it reset back to default BIOS values? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, it would reset the mobile. You probably meant the i5-12600K.
