Hey tech enthusiasts. I'm facing a serious problem with my HP Z2 G9 SFF Workstation. It runs Windows 11 Pro with an AMD Radeon Pro WX3200 GPU, 32GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD plus a 1GB M.2 drive. The system started working fine until a recent Windows update disabled the built-in sound. I managed to get audio from another TV but not from the graphics card. After trying driver updates from HP without success, I attempted to uninstall the audio device, but it disappeared entirely from Device Manager. When I checked the BIOS, the device appeared but Windows didn’t recognize it. After hours of troubleshooting, I restored from a backup made the day before the update. The system froze after reboot and wouldn’t power on at all—only the power LED lights briefly when I pressed the reset button. I left it disconnected for a while and tried to boot with just keyboard, mouse, and one monitor. Now I’m considering disconnecting everything else except those essentials to see if it boots into BIOS. If that fails, calling HP support is my final option since it’s under warranty. Any advice would be super helpful while I work on this until a fix comes through.

It’s fully covered under the warranty. I thought it’d be wise to look for others who faced the same issue before I waste too much time waiting with HP. The setup uses a UPS, so power should be reliable.

Ensure all cables are properly seated before proceeding. If everything fits correctly, consider contacting the manufacturer for a return or replacement.
