You can choose to pause, select a time, or skip the update now. Turning off the scheduled restart will prevent updates until you manually decide to shut down the laptop.

According to my understanding, you can only postpone w10 updates for up to 7 days before they are installed automatically

Windows 10 restricts this action, so you should back up your data to avoid forced updates.

Seems like the laptop is set to home mode, which explains why it didn’t reboot when you got the message. I’ve been avoiding Windows 10 because of that. I’m okay with updates but dislike having a strict 7-day install window—especially if there’s a data limit concern. What do you think about the alternative method mentioned?

It looks like you're trying to adjust the settings so the system stays active after installation but won't restart unless someone logs off properly. The mention of sleep mode and automatic updates suggests it's intended for a server environment rather than a personal device.

It works for servers as well, offering the best savings. If you don’t see choices here, chances are you won’t find them elsewhere—unless you check Thirtyparty applications.

Executed typed GPEedit.msc, but Windows couldn't locate it. Is this exclusive to Pro versions?
