I don’t recall much about hard drive swaps... After cloning and swapping an SSD, you can reinstall the old drive. The Windows boot manager should work fine once the system is running on the new drive. You can then format the old hard drive for data storage as needed.

After copying everything, adjust the boot sequence in the BIOS to start from the SSD instead of the hard drive. Remove the HDD and verify that all components are connected to the SSD. Once confirmed, format the drive and it will function as storage.

Start the new SSD, confirm widows are viewing it correctly. Then power off the PC, connect the HDD, and restart, and everything should work fine.
