I wasn't able to reach Asus today, but I spoke with Best Buy, which is arranging a repair appointment for you... Their nearest available slot is next weekend.

Best Buy won’t be able to resolve that issue. I haven’t experienced this before—it was impressive how the failure spread so quickly. Your friend isn’t sure what they’re doing.

If the system didn't boot properly, those parts were probably defective. I wouldn't attempt any fixes myself and would wait for ASUS to get involved. Third-party repairs could void your warranty, unless Best Buy agrees to replace the board.

You should contact ASUS directly with this video and photos. It’s important to mention the warranty status. They need to fix this as soon as possible—repairing a damaged motherboard isn’t practical. Best Buy didn’t seem to understand the situation. Did you inform them about what happened?
