Hey there! Your question is pretty interesting. Since you're building a PC without a hard drive yet, it makes sense to move the games onto your current machine first. That way you can transfer them later once you have a drive. Regarding the Steam requirement, yes—installing them through Steam means you'll own the games digitally and can download them on your new system. It’s a straightforward process once installed. Keep enjoying the forums; they’re always great!

Probably so. I had an old CD before. They just added a code key and installed the game via Steam. Uncertain about other titles.

Sure, you don’t need a hard drive. Just create a Steam account, paste the necessary codes, and download it. You can also use your computer with a physical drive to generate ISOs and run them directly on the machine without needing a disk drive.

Over the past few years, most of my computer lacks CD drives because you can easily get everything from Steam.

I understand. ;~; I bought all digital games for my Xbox One unless a collector's edition appeals to me. I also have a Steam account, mostly buying titles from Humble Bundles, but it was a PC I got from WalMart five years ago. I haven't played much since then. Now I can install these collections on discs and download them later through Steam. These are two of the reasons I'm starting to build a gaming PC. I've always dreamed of playing Skyrim with mods, not just the Xbox One version either. With powerful and game-changing modifications. That makes sense. Thanks a lot!
